Effective date: July 2, 2026 — applies to Quillity and the gray-flow.com website.
Quillity is a private journal, and we treat it that way. Your entries — text, photos, videos, audio, moods, habits, and everything else you record — are stored on your device and, if you enable sync, in your personal iCloud account. They are never sent to gray-flow servers, and we cannot read them.
We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in Quillity.
Everything you create in Quillity lives locally on your device: journal entries and attachments, moods and mood history, habits and check-ins, reminders, link boards, reading lists, tags, and your theme settings.
If you enable iCloud sync or iCloud backup, that data is stored in your own iCloud account under your Apple ID, protected by Apple's iCloud security. gray-flow has no access to your iCloud data.
Camera, photo library, and microphone — only used when you add photos, videos, or audio to an entry. Media you attach stays in your journal.
Notifications — only used for reminders you set. Discreet notification presets are available so the content of your journal never appears on your lock screen.
Location — only used, if you allow it, to attach a place or local weather to an entry.
If you connect Apple Health, health data is read on your device solely to display it alongside your entries and insights. Health data is never sent to gray-flow or any third party, and is handled according to Apple's HealthKit rules.
Weather and Apple Music integrations similarly run on your device to add context to your entries.
Quillity's AI features run entirely on your device using Apple's on-device foundation models. Your entries are never sent to gray-flow, and no content is transmitted to any external server for AI processing — everything happens locally on your iPhone.
Because the processing is on-device, your journal stays private even when you use AI features. There is no gray-flow AI service in the middle, and nothing is retained by us.
You can lock Quillity behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Data on your device is protected by iOS device encryption. Local backups and full data export are built in, so your archive is always yours to keep or move.
For Pro users, any data stored in the cloud is end-to-end encrypted, so only you can read it — and even for Pro features, no journal content is processed off your device.
If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you provide (and, optionally, which apps you're interested in) so we can notify you about launches. We don't share or sell this list, and you can ask us to remove your email at any time.
If you submit feedback or a feature request through the site, we store what you send so our team can review and act on it. These submissions go into a private queue that only we see — they are not published on the site or shown to other visitors.
We use Cloudflare to serve this site, which may process standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the service.
Any purchases or subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. gray-flow never sees your payment details. Purchase entitlements are verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit.
Our apps and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the date below. Material changes affecting the app will also be noted in the app's release notes.
Questions about privacy or your data? Reach us through the feedback form — submissions come straight to us and aren't publicly visible. It's our contact and support channel while we're pre-launch.
